Version 2.77

Description

Amorphous crystals (also called amorphous urates) appear as small, sand-like particles with no specific shape (amorphous). They are commonly seen in the urine of healthy patients.[Lab Tests Online:urinalysis] Amorphous crystals with sodium, potassium, magnesium or calcium substances tend to form in acidic urine and may have a yellow or yellow-brown color. Amorphous phosphates are similar in appearance to amorphous urates but they tend to form in alkaline urine and lack color. Source: Regenstrief LOINC
