Version 2.77

Description

Famphur is a cholinesterase inhibitor that is poured on or injected in cattle or reindeer to control grubs, cattle lice, reindeer grub fly, and reindeer nostril fly. Famphur can cause skin and eye irritation or damage in humans, and is toxic or fatal if swallowed or inhaled. Contact of famphur with fire may generate irritating, corrosive, toxic gases. It is slowly hydrolyzed in water, having a half-life of 60 days. Evidence suggests that famphur does not bioaccumulate in fish or aquatic wildlife.[PubChem:5859][http://pmep.cce.cornell.edu/profiles/insect-mite/fenitrothion-methylpara/famphur/famphur_prf_0485.html] Source: Regenstrief LOINC
