Term Description

The episode of care secondary diagnosis code includes all of the billing codes except for the first one listed on the claim form for the most recent visit in a given episode of care. This term was created for, but is not limited in use to, the the American Physical Therapy Association's Physical Therapy Outcomes Registry, for which the diagnosis code will almost always be reported using ICD-10-CM.
