Antimicrobials [Presence] in Urine

Term Description
A small amount of urine is placed on an agar plate which has been seeded with a sensitive strain of E.coli, then incubated overnight. A zone of inhibition where the urine was inoculated indicates a bacterial inhibitor. This would explain "sterile pyuria"
